UNIVERSITY OF INSUBRIA
Founded in 1998, The University of Insubria, is established with two main campuses in Varese and Como and secondary campuses in Busto Arsizio and Saronno. The University of Insubria places itself 16th out of the 58 state-supported Italian universities and third in the Lombardy province.
The university focuses on four core values which are freedom, respect, excellence and motivation and merit which is strongly followed to enhance the academic activity within the university. With 12,000 students, it is truly an international university.
It has 150 international mobility agreements with universities around the world including in France, Germany, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland and Greece. Student Mobility is well established as well as 8 Master of Science programs with release of double degree with foreign universities (EU).
The University has a faculty of 400. This is besides the various visiting professors from all over the world to conduct guest lectures and to take part in the university’s research programmes.
The University is focussed on scientific research, applied and fundamental, investing in advanced laboratories and research centres at each campus. This culminates in an intense research activity conducted by more than 70 research group in the seven Departments and within many Research Centres supported by ICT and Libraries Services. The university also has 4 libraries from which the student can get good access to scientific material.
