Situated in the densely populated area around Lake Malaren, MDH, about 1 hour by train from Stockholm, has its campuses in Eskilstuna and Vasteras. The Campus in Eskilstuna is one of the most modern and brand-new university buildings in Europe, something out of the ordinary and the one in Vasteras has a lot to offer to the students, as there’s something for everyone there.

MDH has ample reasons for the student community from across the world to take up study from the many programs offered by them. It has modern campuses with international outlook, outstanding research component and strategic partnerships with businesses, like ABB, Volvo, Bombardier and HEIs. Collaboration with business houses provides the students with the much-needed real life experience, vis-à-vis project works and trainee positions, and at the same time expand their network of contacts who matter. The labour market reciprocates by grabbing up major part of their workforce from MDH, so much so that it is a well-known fact that majority of MDH students get employed within one year of graduation.

MDH’s philosophy has always aimed at the betterment of the society and towards this end, the university invests in research and education that improves the productivity and employability of their students, who in turn make the University proud by contributing to the society in a constructive way.

Malarden University offers courses in Business, Health, Engineering and Education. MDH’s research focus has always been on the future energy and embedded systems, thus contributing its mite to making the earth a better place to live.

What makes students attracted to MDH University is the availability of 100% scholarship and the University’s collaboration with housing agencies for accommodating foreign students.

Continuing professional development is the cornerstone of MDH’s overwhelming philosophy. The Prompt Project, a collaborative effort with Blekinge Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology, University of Gothenburg and the Research Institute RISE, works on these lines. Students and professionals who have an academic background are allowed to take up online courses at master’s level in the areas of AI, Environmental and Energy Engineering, Software and Computer Systems Engineering to further enhance their competencies. These courses are collaboratively developed by the industries in the neighbourhood keeping in view their concrete competence challenges and real needs, by giving them the access to the expertise of two of MDH's strongest research environments - Embedded Systems and the Future Energy Center. These courses are module-based and very relevant for both professionals and students aiming to earn gainful employment. They attract a lot of international students who live in different time zones, as they allow a flexible study schedule with no physical classes.

In its overarching passion towards continuing professional development, MDH has partnered with Linnaeus University, University West and Örebro University, in KIT Project to offer cutting-edge courses in AI and Smart production for professionals to help develop the digitalisation of the industry, with an aim to contribute to the continued development of the industry's competence development.

MDH researchers develop innovative solutions and tools in the areas of energy, construction and environmental technology as part of Future Energy Centre, and the technology used to control various products such as cars, robots and machines, as part of the embedded systems. Both these components are Sweden’s strongest research environments

In its Premium project of Continuing professional development in Smart Production, MDH customises its courses to suit the industry needs of sustainable and smart production in Sweden. These courses prime the students to adapt to the changing trends and increasing demands by strategically working on their skill sets. As a part of this MDH has partnered with Jonkoping University and more than 20 partner companies in developing 21 courses of 5 credits each.

Another feature of MDH is the research specialisation of Innovation and Product Realisation [IPR] which focusses on future developments and renewal within organisations.

With its emphasis on Continuing professional development and lifelong learning, and its distinct environmental profile, MDH is an attractive proposition to International students.
