Bi Norwegian Business School founded in 1943 is the largest business school in Norway and the second largest in Europe with four campuses, 18728 students, 404 academic staff and 441 administrative staff.
BNBS gives its students a wholesome ‘feel’ of witnessing the Norwegian culture and the egalitarian lifestyle from a very close angle. By studying in Norway, the students will also experience Norway’s Scandinavian leadership model and the high productivity as well as gender equality.
BNBS operations has 4 campuses, with an international award-winning main campus in Nydalen (Oslo) with 14000 students; other campuses are in Bergen with 3000 students, in Stavanger, the oil capital of Norway, with around 1,200 students and in Trondheim with around 1900 students.
BNBS is currently ranked 37th in the Financial Times ranking of European Business Schools and was ranked as the 35th most influential business school in the world in 2009 by Eduniversal.
BNBS is accredited as a specialised university institution by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT). BNBS has also received EQUIS accreditation, the first Norwegian institution to do so. Other Accreditations are AMBA accreditation, AACSB accreditation. All these accreditations are BNBS’s crowning glory.
BNBS’s accreditations, coupled with networking with the business community, has earned it a glorious reputation of creating an archetypal sustainable future, as exemplified by its reputation of high rate of employment among its students, with 80 to 90% of their Bachelors and Master’s students getting employed within 6 to 12 months of their completion.
BNBS has partnered with Fudan University in Shanghai China to educate nearly 1700 students. BNBS is also a major stakeholder in the ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius and Kaunas in Lithuania with 1800 students.
For its Executive MBA program in general management, BNBS has international collaborations, having partnership with Nanyang Business School (Nanyang Technological University) of Singapore, Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain and Haas School of Business (University of California at Berkeley), USA.
BI offers a full set of programs for bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees, as well as executive education and tailor-made programs for businesses. BBA and graduate programs are taught in English, whereas majority of the undergraduate programs and custom programs for local businesses are in Norwegian. The school currently participates in exchange programs with 200 foreign institutions in 45 countries. 20 percent of its master’s students are internationals from more than 100 countries.
BNBS runs a research program named Norsk Kundebarometer (NKB), meaning ‘Norwegian customer barometer’ which studies the relationship between customers and businesses and between various industries through an annual household survey.
Since 1983, BNBS has been the major supplier of skilled workforce in Norway, 200 000 graduates to be precise, with economic and administrative competencies.
BI organised its academic activities in nine separate research departments covering all of the disciplines that can be expected at a modern European business school.
BI offers different types of scholarships for both bachelor’s level and master’s level.
