Linkoping University has been a preferred destination for nearly 50 nationalities ever since its inception, because it offers over 25 international programs, where English is the medium of instruction. Linkoping a small, yet the 5th largest, city in Sweden, with its small-town charm, known primarily for the University by the same name, is a center of high-technology and software industry. Linkoping University has 4 campuses, 3 of which are well connected by the University bus, whereas the 4th one is near the capital city of Stockholm. Of the 3 in the town, one of them, the Campus Valla has the largest number of students, whereas the one in the University Hospital campus is a centre for education and research in the medical field. The nearest big city is Norrkoping, which offers recreational cultural and musical environs.
