Domus Academy
Domus Academy is a private design school in Milan, the world’s capital of fashion and design. Domus Academy was founded in 1982 by eminent Italian designer family of Mazzocchi, who own the Editoriale Domus that publishes Domus and Quattroroute magazines in Italy. But since then, the management changed hands twice, first time in 2009 from the Mazzocchi Family to Laureate Education of Baltimore, Maryland, and again in 2018 to the British Galileo Global Education Group. Domus is one of the most visionary schools in Italy for post graduate studies in design. What makes it an outstanding school is its top rankings and awards and collaboration with internationally reputed brands. - Domus Academy participated in the Venice Biennale by organizing the project Art Experience by artist Olafur Eliasson in 2005.
- The project Agronica, created by Domus Academy and developed by faculty members Andrea Branzi, Dante Donegani, Anthony Petrillo, Claudia Raimondo and Tselila Ben David, was shown at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in 1995. It has since become a part of the Centre’s permanent collection.

Academics
Domus Academy was the first post-graduate design school in Italy to represent the Italian Design and Fashion. With its deep-rooted belief in the Italian culture and design, Domus Academy is entrenched into the processes of industrial creativity, aesthetic and consumption scenarios, space and time relations, public and private services. Yet, it has an international outlook, aimed at enriching, spreading, and updating the design culture, in tandem with its visionary projects.
It offers 12 Academic Master’s Programs and professional courses in Fashion and Busines, industrial design and design management. All programs are a combination of theory coursework and hands-on workshops in collaboration with different design studios and companies, like Moncler, Pomellato, Flos, Elica, Stone Island, Timberland, Pininfarina, KRIZIA, Procter & Gamble, YOOX, The Coca-Cola Company, Versace, BVLGARI, Wired, Vogue, MAGIS, CISCO, Salvatore Ferragamo, Technogym, KARTELL, Natuzzi, Italia Independent, GROM, Kickstarter, etc.
which add to the students’ professional experience. These collaborations provide the students with rich real-life experiences and a valuable professional network that helps them fulfil their ambition with regard to employment and also helps them in making their career choices. Domus programs are known to train and prepare their students in designing products for various industrial sectors on both local and worldwide scale. Career prospects for Domus Graduates are excellent; those with an entrepreneurial mindset can establish their own start-ups, whereas others who are academic oriented can enter into a research environment, and yet others just join design firms, architecture/design studios as employees.
The students of Domus Academy have participated and won prizes in several prestigious competitions, including the ITS Accessories contest, the Next Generation contest at Milan Fashion Week, Vogue Talents, Vogue’s Who Is on Next?, the Red Dot Award, the Samsung Young Design Award, and the Wallpaper* Design Awards.
